Simple Steps to Better Guitar Tone

Monday, March 31st, 2008

Great guitar tone is something that every guitarist wants. The quest for tone is one of the biggest reasons guitar players drop so much money on amplifiers and effects.

If you’ve found yourself spending a lot of money lately on various ’sound tweaking’ gadgets, take note: the solution to your sound problems just might be closer (and cheaper) than you think!

Whether you want killer distortion or country-twang, the secret of great tone begins with a pure, clean signal.

In other words, no matter how many effects you intend to use, you’ve got to make sure the basic, unadulterated “dry signal” coming through your amp sounds just as good as anything else.

The reason for this is simple: every effect you add to that signal brings in a little bit of noise. So, you need to start with as clean a signal as possible so that the cumulative impact of noise and signal degradation from your effects is kept to a minimum.

The first step here is as easy as proper maintenance of your guitar. Not only do you need to keep your strings fresh, and your neck in alignment, you also need to eliminate any sources of buzz or hum coming from faulty cords or poor electrical wiring in your pickups or input jack.

The second step is to run the same maintenance check on your amplifier. Now, the fact is, some amps are just noisier than others. If you can find nothing physically wrong with your amp, it may just be that you need to do upgrades for better tone.

For example, your amp’s factory-installed speakers are probably not top-of-the-line. In the case of tube amps, especially, this can make a HUGE difference.

Along similar lines, you might also consider upgrading your tubes and/or the transistors used in the pre-amp stage.

Why?

Because your amp’s sound is greatly influenced by the way each of these components responds to the guitar signal. Cheap parts have a slower dynamic response, and can also add unwanted coloration to the signal. This is one reason why some amps will sound great at a lower volume, but start to break up and distort as soon as you turn things up.

Last, but not least, take a look at the effects pedals you currently have in your arsenal. Maybe you’ve purchased 2 or 3 different distortion pedals, for example, in an elusive quest for that perfect ‘crunch’?

There’s nothing wrong with owning multiple pedals for the same type of effect; but, if you still aren’t getting the sound you desire, it could be that you need to add something very basic into the mix, like an EQ pedal.

A good EQ pedal will allow you to shape which frequencies are emphasized. You can, for example, cut the mid-range for a heavier tone, or boost the highs so that your treble notes punch through.

Try mixing and matching EQ and Volume pedals in different places along your effects chain in order to boost or limit the characteristics of other effects. You’ll be amazed how many different sounds you can create with a little experimentation!

Understanding The Cajun French Language

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

Who are the Cajuns and What is the Cajun French Language?

Cajuns are an ethnic group in the U.S. state of Louisiana, whose ancestors were exiled from the former French colony known as Acadia (now a part of the Maritime provinces of Canada and in Maine), in 1755, during the catholic ethnic cleansing campaign, known as the Great Expulsion, initiated by British Crown. The term “Cajun” is derived from the English pronunciation of the French word “Acadien”.

Cajun French language is a dialect of French spoken by this ethnic group, with traces of influences from Quebec French, Haitian Creole, European French, and Haitian French. Cajun French language is distinct, mainly in fields of pronunciation and vocabulary, from Parisian or Metropolitan French.

The First Cajun French Language Dictionary

“A Dictionary of the Cajun Language”, the first Cajun French language dictionary was published in 1984 by Father Jules O. Daigle. It is not exhaustive or comprehensive, and omits certain alternate spellings and synonyms considered to be “perversions” by the author. However, it remains to be popular among Cajun speakers and writers, and is commonly considered to be the authority on the Cajun French language.

Where is Cajun French Language Used?

The primary region where Cajun French is spoken is called “Acadiana”, which differs from “Acadia” where Acadian French is spoken. In the United States, Cajun French is mainly spoken in the state of Louisiana, particularly in regions such as Lafayette Parish, St. Landry Parish, Terrebonne Parish, St. Mary Parish, Assumption Parish, St. Martin Parish, Evangeline Parish, Vermilion Parish, Lafourche Parish, and Iberia Parish.

The number of Cajun French language speakers has significantly decreased in recent years, and its survival has been questioned a number of times. This is mainly because majority of the Cajun French speakers live in an English-speaking nation, are bilingual, and are encouraged by parents to use English. However, there have been some attempts to revive the diminishing language by certain organizations such as the Council for the Development of French in Louisiana (CODOFIL).

Some of the Main Differences between Standard and Cajun French:

• In Cajun French language, almost all past tense constructions are made using the verb avoir (to have). Standard French, on the other hand, has important verbs whose compound past tense is made using être (to be).

• “Nous Parlons” in standard French is always “On Parle” in Cajun French.

• Pronunciations not similar with standard French: 1) /a/ is pronounced with tongue towards the back of the mouth, sounding more like /ɑ/. 2) /d/ is pronounced /ʤ/ (before /i/). 3) /k/ pronounced /ʧ/ before /a/. 4) /t/ is also pronounced /ʧ/ before/i/. 5) /r/ is pronounced as an alveolar trill or flap and not the uvular fricative of standard French, and is omitted at the end of a syllable. 6) /wa/ pronounced /we/, and also often more like /ɔ/, with a bit of an offglide towards /u/.

Speaking french is actuallyl dubbed one of the hardest language however it’s also one of the nicest sounding language. Find out how you can start speaking french in around 3 months at http://www.learnfrenchspeak.com.

Healthy Eating Leads To Healthy Living

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

Healthy eating is never a likable option with hard core foodies. People are always particular about the quality of fuel to be used for their Mercedes but quality is always on a compromise when it comes to health issues.

People hog on to whatever comes their way, being least bothered about the consequences. Be it cookies, chocolates, gravy or some pulses, all have an equal rating. But the unwanted pounds that get added is a much neglected fact. There is very little difference between our body system and a car. A car that has been designed to run on petrol will never move an inch if diesel is poured into it. Similar is the case with human beings. For the normal functioning of the human body, it is very essential to eat the right things.

Whenever there is a talk on healthy eating, people are of the idea that there are hardly any eating options given to them. But the fact definitely takes them by surprise that, healthy eating has a wider variety of options.

Food Pyramid

The Americans have the system of a food pyramid which vitally helps them to remain healthy in the long run. Although very few are addicted to this food pyramid but in general, it is of great help.

It is very important to have a control on ones weight. Overeating and an unhealthy diet leads to obesity which would leave you, physically and mentally fatigued.

A daily exercise is a must. Any kind of physical activity would help. This is merely to help a proper blood circulation.

Avoid fatty foods.

Understand the usefulness of wholegrain.

Cut down on the intake of sugar.

Benefits of healthy eating

Who likes to fall sick every now and then? It ends up upsetting ones mood as well as all the exciting plans. Staying healthy not only increases the energy level but also causes no problems in the body functioning. The immune system remains strong and obesity becomes a forgotten word. There are also a variety of other benefits caused due to healthy eating.

There occurs an imbalance in our diet due to the lack of nutrients. Its only a healthy diet that leads to a proper nutrition level in the body.

Heart diseases, cancer, diabetes and blood pressure can be on a reduce if a the diet is a healthy one.

Healthy eating leads to a healthy and perfect body structure. It helps you to remain in shape. Neither does it make you feel overdone nor very sleek. This will help to enjoy life better.

Eating healthy also helps you to remain young.

Your guide book to healthy eating

Healthy eating is never an inborn thing but something that has to be inculcated.

There is a famous proverb that goes like…”breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper”. It may sound funny but taking it on a serious note, it works.

Never try to skip your meals. This leads to a gastric problem which adds as a link to many other serious ones.

Reduce on the oil intake and try to include fresh fruits and vegetables. Salads, fruit and vegetable juices are apt for the people giving a thought to healthy eating.

Sugar should very low on the chart as it automatically leads to diabetes at some point of life. There is always an availability of low calorie sugar.

Never eat when your stomach does not want to,no matter what your eating is your favorite food. Feel light even after you have just finished eating. That is the secret to healthy eating.

Cut down on the intake of too much of red meat. It leads to a high cholesterol level.

An intake of calcium is very essential for the body, and milk and other dairy products is the only solution. But care should be take to have dairy products with saturated fat. A suggestion by the Harvard health is to replace milk and cheese, In fact all high calorie stuffs with calcium supplements.

A limit on the salt consumption is very much advisable. Too much of salt intake leads to high blood pressure.

Changes in the food habits should not be made all of a sudden. Our body system is a very delicate one and it prefers only gradual changes. It cannot handle too much of changes at a time. It is definitely advised to reduce food but never to eliminate it. This will add on to the problems rather than solving it.

Christmas - How to Get Your Money Back on Track and Alleviate Money Stresses!

Friday, March 28th, 2008

In today’s world we know that tremendous personal, relationship and business stress can be related back to money stresses. We also know that Christmas can be a time where added money stresses can be a real problem for many families. However, with these 6 great money tips put into practice you can start to alleviate money stress and move towards a healthier and happier financial position and a happier life generally!

Tip 1. - Develop a ‘money’ awareness. You need to focus on the money that comes into your life and that flows out of your life. This means writing down and tracking every single cent that you spend. Get a note pad and for 2 weeks write down the date, time, what you spent, what you spent it on, why you spent it, how you felt once you spent it, whether you need it plus write what money came in and what you put into a savings account.

Tip 2. - Develop a savings plan. You need a savings plan. Preferably have an amount automatically debited from your account to a specially set up savings account each pay day. The idea is to save a minimum of 10% of what comes in. Open a savings account where you need 24 hours before they will allow you to withdraw from it. This will help you to stay on track. The idea is to use this money for investments such as purchasing shares or for a deposit for a property. You will be amazed at how you will not miss this money and you will learn how to budget on the rest of your money. Read “The Richest Man in Babylon” which is a timeless classic about money skills. It has changed countless lives! You can even read this little book to your children and they too will learn an abundance of life lessons.

Tip 3. - Learn how to budget. This may sound simple yet it is profound. Learning how to budget and tricks to keep you on track with your budget can literally change your life for the better on many fronts. This is a learnt skill. A good idea is to find someone who can mentor you with a budget. Find someone who you feel comfortable to share your financial situation with and who is skillful with money. Don’t learn from someone who is not financially abundant. Learn from someone who is successful and can show you what not to do as well as what to do. I highly recommend you book in a session with a good accountant who can help you plan a start-up budget, help you monitor and assess as you go. Having someone to be accountable to will help you in the early days to keep on track.

Tip 4 - Develop a positive attitude towards money. You have heard this saying ‘money doesn’t grow on trees’ or ‘money is the root of all evil’. Well it’s time to change the negative self talk. It does not serve you. This type of thinking will hold you back and sabotage you. You need to focus on the positive aspects of money such as money ’supports’ a happy, healthy life. You need to prevent self sabotage so you will not go off on a tangent and spend your money and not stick to a budget. I highly recommend that you get yourself a copy of Michele Blood’s ‘Success’ cd from www.musivation.com and play it in your car, when going for a walk or have it on in the background at home. Michele has put positive words to music. Her music will help to change your self sabotage by helping to change your thoughts to more positive supportive ones. She has a ‘money’ song that you’ll want to play every day and reap the benefits! Her music goes straight into your subconscious and that is the area of your mind you need to effect. So do yourself a favor and buy yourself her cd as a Christmas present for yourself and start developing a positive money mindset today!

Tip 5. - addressing your fear of money - remember that money is really nothing more than energy that you can harness or let it run by you. Do you ignore your money? You do this by not knowing where it goes and thus you loose its power. Often when we have been ignoring our money we end up in a mind-set of thinking of and being fearful of not having enough money. Once you start to pay attention to your money your fears will start to drop off. You will know where it comes from and where it goes. Then you learn how you can leverage it. You will, once you learn the skills and put them into practice, find that you have more money than you thought possible. Your fears are coming from a lack of knowledge and understanding of how to harness the energy of money. This is a skill you can learn. Researchers today tell us that it is crucial to avoid being fearful about any lack of money because what we focus on builds stronger neural circuits in your brain. What you focus on expands. You don’t want more stress built up because of a focus on the fear of money. Remember that fear stands for ‘false evidence appearing real’. So focus on learning how to harness the energy of money and your fears will drop away.

Tip 6 - Develop an investment strategy. This is a skill that needs to be learnt. You can go to a local college or find a group who can teach you. Find a strategy that you like then focus on learning everything you can about that one strategy. You will build confidence and know how to develop a good investment strategy in that area for your future. Don’t think that handing over your hard earned money to someone else to invest it for you is the answer. You need to know the basics at the very least so you can make an informed decision. Again knowledge will give you confidence to make supportive decisions for the growth of your investments.

Start putting the above tips into practice and you will find that your world will start to change. It takes courage and commitment to make positive changes in your life. You can do it. Make a decision today to start. Find people who can support you and guide you and your future days and future festive days will be less stressful and merrier!

This article is all about the incredible artist Alexander Lunev, who is about to take the International music scene by storm!

Musical Contribution Awards!

Alexander Lunev appeared at MTV’s 13th annual European Music Awards contest to receive “Best Russian Act” nomination for RMA (Regional Music Awards), held in Copenhagen on November 2nd 2006 for his musical contribution with the dark pop song: “Never Let You Go” and sung by Dima Bilan. The show featured some of the biggest names in the music world including, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Keane, Snoop Dogg and Justin Timberlake who won best male and best pop award.

Virtuosity!

Russian musician and producer Alexander Lunev is arguably Russia’s leading contemporary composer. However, what makes him special is that he has a unique way of expressing his prodigious musical talents. Every melody is a sublime and exhilarating listening experience; that’s how enthralling and refreshing his sound is!

Unsigned Talent!

Incredibly though, Alexander Lunev is unsigned to any record label in the rest of Europe and America as yet, however, he is rapidly catching the attention of many important players in the music industry. Alex’s instrumental ambient type music is perhaps more akin to that of the famous Vangelis, whilst his methodically sequenced and lush electronic progressive genre is probably closer to that of Ryuichi Sakamoto.

Influential!

Alexander Lunev has collaborated with a number of singers effortlessly influencing all with his creative and unique sounds. Witness the energy and artistry of his compositions. This is definitely a music that can lift one to the highest state of melodic level. His compositions journey through a myriad of genres gently bathed in intricate, yet futuristic harmonies.

Inspiring!

Collaborating with the award-winning Dima Bilan, that magical talent was finally revealed captivating a huge global audience! Everybody will recognise the song “Never Let You Go” brilliantly composed by Alexander and superbly sung by Dima at the Eurovision 2006 that made it to number two before it shot up the single’s chart and became an instant smash hit in many countries. In February 2007 Dima Bilan will record two of Alexander’s compositions in Los Angeles with the producer of “Black Eyed Peas” who is very interested in Alexander’s music and he has plans to duet with the pop diva Shakira in the very near future.

Aspiring!

What separates and truly distinguishes Alexander from many other musical artists and composers are the absolute brilliant command he has over the guitar and keyboard! For those who have not yet heard the soundtrack from the movie “Ballet of the Butterflies” you may want to check that one out first on Lunev’s website http://www.lunev.info. However, for those who are already fans of the artistic brilliance that Lunev creates through his music like; “Through The Eyes Of The Eagle”, “Following the Trail”, “Above the Ocean”, “Drowning Man”, “Return to the Heavens”, “Never Let You Go” (B. Bilan) and “Lady Flame” (B. Bilan), are definite must-have.

Creativity!

Complementing and pushing his sound creativity vision further, Alex, who is also musical producer for the group “Koroleva” (”Queen”), are together recording his latest composition titled “Snow” due to be released this Christmas. Alexander has contributed to two popular movie soundtracks, notably one for the Russian movie “Frenchman”. In addition, he wrote and produced the rock-opera “Prodigal Son” based on classical evangelic texts, further testimony of his boundless genius.

Dexterity!

The undeniably guitar virtuoso and talented keyboard player who can take any style of music and give it a special twist to suit, has excelled in a wide range of music styles rightly carving a name for himself in popular, orchestral and film music. His fan base age ranges from 13-25 year olds for his songs, while not surprisingly perhaps his sensational “electronica” collection captivates the over 21’s.

This year marked a truly significant step forward in the realm of electronic music delivering an astonishing musical repertoire like no other. Alexander new material is already popular in his adopted home city Moscow and boasts a loyal following ranging between 25 to over 80 year olds, further testimony of his fans wide age group musical taste appeal.

Forward!

Adding new material, Alexander reappeared this fall to pursue his interest in “world music” with an instrumental album titled “Through the Eyes of the Eagle” that strikes the head and grabs one’s soul. This album is scheduled for release in the very near future, but no firm date as yet.

Needless to say this pioneering composer and enormously talented artist is definitely poised for global stardom!

Worst Songs to Have Stuck in Your Head

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

There are good songs. There are bad songs. Then, there are ear worms, songs that get stuck in your head and stay there: no amount of amnesia will remove them. These kinds of songs aren’t necessarily bad, but they aren’t something you want sharing your brain space for 24 hours a day. Yet, there they remain, fermented in the crevices of your mind like the frosting of a sticky bun.

With some sticking more than others, the following is our list of top five worst songs to have stuck in your head, ear worms that no amount of digging with a Q-tip will remove.

I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles): By far the best well known song from The Proclaimers, “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” is a song with a lot of miles under its belt, miles spent in your memory. Released in 1988, this song is one you don’t need to know the words to, all you need to know is that you would, in fact, walk 500 miles. You should also know that the second set of “Da-da-da’s” sounds just like Michael J. Fox. Listen, I swear it’s him.

Cupid’s Chokehold: More commonly known as “Take a Look at My Girlfriend,” “Cupid’s Chokehold” was originally release by Gym Glass Heroes in 2004 and re-released in 2006. True to its title, this song has the ability to pierce our brains with the sharpness of Cupid’s arrow. Still, we can’t really put too much blame on the song itself, the invasive “Ba da da da” line is originally from the Supertramp song, “Breakfast in America.” Supertramp is where our fingers should really be pointed.

Copacabana: This 1978 hit introduced us to Lola (she was a showgirl), Rico (he wore a diamond), and Tony (he always tended bar). A staple of disco parties everywhere, Barry Manilow knew how to put a Copacabana in our Cabeza. This song, close to thirty years old, isn’t on too frequently, but when it is, look out: its music and passion is always the fashion. Though not a bad song in itself, having “Copacabana” stuck in your head is enough to make you want to patronize someplace else.

The Rhythm is Gonna Get You: Gloria Estefan, the Miami Sound Machine, and their songs just won’t go away. Released in 1987, “The Rhythm is Gonna Get You” was a huge hit for all involved. Reaching number 5 on the pop charts, this song - with huge dance beats and unique tempos -is, unfortunately, unforgettable. Having it inside your head for hours is enough to make anyone wish the rhythm would in fact get them, and just get it over with.

Chili’s Baby Back Ribs Song: Okay, so this isn’t really a song - and the “I want my baby back baby back baby back” doesn’t exactly qualify as musical genius - but this Chili’s theme song is the epitome of an ear worm, a grilled to order ear worm. Hearing this jingle is enough to ruin your day: there’s a song about ribs in your head…….. and now you’re hungry.

Every electrical technician knows the difference between DC (Direct Current) and AC (Alternating Current). Every electrical technician also realizes the importance of taking accurate current measurements to protect conductors from exceeding their insulators’ ability to withstand heat or assuring devices under power work properly. However, does every electrical technician realize that electrical current measurements aren’t always what they appear to be?

Direct Current (DC) is straightforward. When we use a multimeter to measure direct current, it is what it is. However, the plot thickens when we are dealing with Alternating Current (AC). AC current travels back and forth down a conductor and can best be described in graphical format. The most common graphical description of AC current is a sine wave. Because the amplitude of the sine wave continuously changes over the wave period (one complete cycle), at any given point in time, a current measurement would not be the same. Therefore, how do we accurately measure AC Current?

One method to measure AC current would be take current measurements at increments across one complete cycle and average them together. This would give us an average value of the current. If the current is a perfect sine wave, mathematically, the average value is always 0.636 times the value of the peak amplitude.

Another method to measure current is based on the current’s ability to perform work when applied to a resistive load. The laws of physics tell us that when current passes through a resistive load, it dissipates energy in the form of heat, mechanical motion, radiation or other forms of energy. If the resistive load is a heating element and the resistive load stays constant, then the laws of physics tell us that the heat produced is directly proportionate to the current passing through the load. Therefore, if we measure the heat, we will know the current.

Mathematically, the relationship between heat and current is such that the heat produced is proportional to the square of the current applied to a resistance.

(Power or Heat) = (Current) ^2 * (Resistance)

If the current is continuously changing, as in AC current, the heat produced is proportional to the average (or mean) of the square of the current applied to a resistance:

(Power or Heat) = Average [ (Current) ^2 * (Resistance) ]

Using algebra, the above formula can be rewritten to read:

Current = Square Root [ (Power or Heat) / (Resistance) ]

AND this is called the Root Mean Square Current or RMS Current.

For AC currents that are graphically represented by a sine wave, the RMS current will always be 0.707 times the peak current. With that said, we can calculate current by multiplying peak measurements by 0.707 if the current is a perfect sine wave. However, perfect sine waves are rare in most commercial and industrial applications. This is because resistive loads in commercial applications are not linear which results in unpredictable or variable current requirements.

In order to get a True RMS measurement, we can measure the heat dissipated by a constant resistive load and perform the above calculations. The result is a True RMS measurement.

Now that we got all the technical discussion out of the way, which is the best method to calculate current? Should we 1.) measure a current average 2.) multiply current peaks by 0.707 to get an RMS current, or 3.) measure the heat from a resistor and calculate a True RMS current value?

Although Global Test Supply sells multimeters that can calculate current using any of the above methods, the most accurate way to calculate current in my opinion is a True RMS method. Average current values often are 40% less than True RMS values and that could mean the difference between blown circuit breakers, malfunctioning motors, or worst case, potential fire hazards. True RMS multimeters only cost about 20-30% more than the alternative. How much is an accurate current reading worth to you?

Watch Your Leads And Sales Explode With These 6 Valuable Website Tips

Sunday, March 23rd, 2008

Watch your leads and sales explode with these 6 valuable website tips.

Did you know that the majority of sites on the internet only have a 1% conversion rate?

At Mantis Technologies (http://www.mantistech.com.au) we have extensive experience in what makes websites work. After years of research, we have compiled the following list of ways that you can significantly increase your leads and sales.

Headline

Research shows that a change in your headline can produce nearly a 2000% increase in sales. The headline is one of the most important aspects of your website and is one of the first things that people will look at when viewing pages in your website.

The right headline on your order / enquiries page can account for 80% of the reason why someone would order from you.

Your headline should concentrate on the biggest benefit of your product or service and create curiosity. For example, great headlines are:

• Increase your turnover by 400%!

• Manage your website without any programming knowledge!

• Stand out from your competitors!

Using ‘ownership’ names such as ‘your’ or ‘you’ also increases the effectiveness of your headlines.

Font colours and bullet points

The majority of people visiting your site will be ’skimmers’. They will not read all the text but instead they will skim through the copy looking for things that match up with what they are searching for.

By listing your benefits and features in bullet points and using red for headings can increase your conversion rate.

Testimonials

A strong testimonial can increase your sales by up to 250%!

When people see that others have used your business and are highly satisfied with your service, that will encourage them to buy your products and services.

Testimonials should be descriptive and tell a story. They should also include the full names and company name of the person giving the testimonial.

An example of a good testimonial is:

“David, I would like to say thanks for the fantastic site you and the staff at Mantis Technologies have built for us. Our business has expanded ten fold as we are now shipping our products all over Australia and have hundreds of new happy customers. We are currently receiving over 2000 hits and enquiries per day. We would like to thank you for your never ending support and backup service. I highly recommend any business looking to build a new site to contact Mantis Technologies.”

Audio Marketing

Research shows that using Audio (or video) on your website can increase sales by over 400%!

Using audio or video in your website gives it a personal feel that is often lacking from websites. This helps make the customer feel at ease and feel a bond with the person talking.

By using a photo and audio (or video), you can introduce yourself to the customer and help bridge the gap that an impersonal website will suffer from.

Order / enquiry buttons

All marketing experts will tell you the golden rule of sales - ask for the order. By placing order / enquiry buttons in easy to access places on your website, you can actually increase leads and sales quite dramatically.

Newsletters

Did you know that up to 90% of people who visit your website are not ready to buy? If you don’t have a way of capturing their details then you are potentially only achieving 10% of what you could achieve with your website.

By simply having a ’subscribe to our newsletter’ box on your homepage, you can capture visitors details and build a database of highly targeted leads.

Research shows that you generally need to grab someone’s attention 7 times before they will place an order with you. By sending out monthly newsletters, you are touching base in a highly efficient way with your potential clients. Monthly newsletters are also a fantastic way to keep selling to your existing clients (after all, it is 3 times easier to sell to an existing client than a new one).

If you post your newsletters on your website, you will also increase leads for two reasons:

1) Visitors will see fresh content on your website and keep coming back for more

2) Search engines will pick up on the fact that there is new, relevant and additional content on your website and that will boost your search engine rankings.

One great system for sending newsletters is http://www.mantismail.com - this includes a free trial system so you can try before you buy!

Today, more and more people understand that having a subscription at a video store is simply does not meet their needs. Instead, they turn to online movie downloads to provide them with films they wish to watch.

This happens for several reasons, where the top reasons are dramatically reduced costs, larger title selection and time saving.

Now, there are basically two online downloading models for movies:

One website supplies content to members. Typically, these websites charge a per-movie fee of several dollars (2$–4$ usually). However, some also charge a monthly fee of about 10$.

A website provides membership to a network of users, where each member has several movies on his or hers computer. You can download movies from every person on the network. These sites typically charge a one-time fee of about 35-50$ for registration, and you are never billed again.

The model that gives the best value to the end-user is irrevocably the member-network model. I will therefore elaborate on this model:

After registering, the website provides you with a software to access the network.

The network consists of millions of users just like yourself. Each member of the network has at least several movie files on his computer. Every member can download movies from any other member. This way you have up to millions of users sharing their movies with you. Because of the vast number of members in a network, the quantity of movies can be in the range of dozens of millions.

A good website will provide you with manuals on software installation and operation, as well as high-availability technical support (some sites provide a 24/7 support system).

Most of the movie networks are more than just movie networks - they contain files of virtually any type - music, software, etc. Some sites will charge you extra for access to music directories.

How long does it take to download an entire film?

Most of the time, download will be completed in a matter of hours. The time may vary, as it depends on two factors:

Your download speed. If you have a broadband connection, you’ll be able to download much faster than a member with a dial-up modem.

The number of users that have the movie you’re downloading, and their upload speed.

In order to bring the download time to a minimum, files are usually split into several relatively small parts, and you can download each part from a different member, so you are far less limited by a specific member’s upload speed. Each network has its own algorithms for managing this split-into-files, so the time of download might still be considerably different between every two networks.

So how do you choose the download network that’s right for you?

You need to compare:

The cost of the program. make sure that the prices you compare are for the same time period! Often a website would offer a one-year membership as well as a lifetime membership.

The number of users and movies on the network.

Additional features supplied - music, software downloads, games, etc. Music playing software, movie playing software and CD & DVD burning software are also common features.

And finally, one note on cautious shopping: Too many times, innocent customers fall into the clutches of scams to steal credit card numbers and other personal information. For a short review that will help you avoid the most common mistakes (and learn a little about movie download sites in particular), you are welcome to visit this site.
